The Raw Dog Food Truth
Your Dog's Healing Journey Begins When You Stop Fighting Symptoms
Homeopath Neely Piazza explains how homeopathic remedies work with the body's natural healing processes rather than suppressing symptoms, offering a powerful alternative to conventional veterinary treatments.
• Homeopathy matches natural remedies to the body's healing strategy, helping resolve issues faster with less suffering
• Conventional medicine (allopathy) merely stops symptoms without healing, often causing problems to return worse than before
• Gateway to Homeopathy courses teach beginners about common remedies for everyday issues like injuries, digestive problems, and more
• Advanced protocol classes address specific concerns like gut health, pain management, allergies, and antibiotic alternatives
• Arnica and Nux Vomica are two essential remedies all dog owners should keep on hand
• Toxic plants like Lantana can be extremely dangerous to dogs, but homeopathic treatment can resolve poisoning quickly
• Taking control of your dog's health through homeopathy reduces dependence on conventional veterinary approaches

Oh snap. Well, hello Raw Feeders. I'm Deedee Mercer-Moffitt. I'm CEO of Raw Dog Food Company. We're your pet's health is our business, and we're friends, like my friend homeopath extraordinaire Neely Piazza. Good morning, hi. You don't let friends feed kibble, do you? Oh heavens, no, never.
Speaker 2:You know what Dr Jasek told me? There's another one out called perfect kibble.
Speaker 1:Oh goodness, there's unkibble and perfect kibble and and it's just like it's still kibble. Guys, kibble, kibble is kibble. Okay, I just don't get it. That's right. I just don't understand how you don't open their mouth and go. Why would you need these triangular, pointy teeth to eat fricking cakes, cookies and chemicals?
Speaker 2:Why? I don't know.
Speaker 1:And and again. It's all this fear of bacteria E coli, listeria, salmonella, and yet we've never seen a issue with that in dogs or people. And you know, vets today love to throw out this, oh, zoonotic stuff. You know, if your dog gets sick it's going to jump on you and you're going to D-I-E.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's a whole bunch of hooey yeah, that's a whole bunch of hooey yep who we doing, um, but you know what's not who we do. We is homeopathy, and you are amazing. I think we have to tell people over and over again, neil's, what is homeopathy? What is it?
Speaker 2:so it's a very old system of medicine that, uh, basically supports the body in and going through the healing process. Um, we, you know, the remedies or our medicines, are derived from natural substances plant, animal, mineral, diluted in succus to where there's basically none of the essence of that object or product or item. And when you introduce it into the body, where a symptom is basically the body's healing strategy, right?
Speaker 2:to move through a situation or sickness or whatever, and if you match the correct remedy to that body's healing strategy, it will help that body move through that healing process much faster and with much less drama and trauma, so that you can kind of, instead of experiencing all of the symptoms you might experience, you would speed through them and then you actually come out the other end on the healing side, where you've actually achieved healing, versus stopped or blocked that process just so that you don't clinically see that symptom. So a symptom is not the enemy. The symptom is the body's idea of a cure. So you just need to help it redirect so that the suffering is lessened and the duration is quickened.
Speaker 2:So an allopathic medicine just stops everything in its tracks. It doesn't heal anything. So when you block that healing mechanism, then it generally comes back with a vengeance. Like antibiotics, they never work long term, right, they stop what's happening right then. But then you know several days to several weeks later you have either a recurrence of the same problem or something worse, or steroids are the same way. So it's it's not a, it's not a cure, it's a bandaid that typically makes things much worse.
Speaker 2:Whereas homeopathy actually carries, carries that, that healing strategy, through to the end, so that it's actually done.
Speaker 1:All right. A lot of people, me included, don't know the first homeopathic remedy for things. However, you have courses and I want to remind everybody neely's website is whole w W-H-O-L-E. Animalwellnesscom, wholeanimalwellnesscom. So you have beginner courses and then, in beginner course, neels, is that the one that's called gateway to homeopathy?
Speaker 2:Yeah, so there's a gateway one and a gateway two. Um, those two are great if you're wanting to learn about homeopathy, wanting to um, start building your you know, your stash of remedies and learning how to use them and in what situations you would use them and how to um, how to administer them and um things like that. So there's, um, you know, an introduction that explains what homeopathy is, a little bit of the history, how, how it came to be. Um, some of the more common, commonly used um remedies, some of the older remedies that you know and a remedy will. It's not like this, for that One remedy may be used for you know tens, hundreds of different things.
Speaker 2:It just kind of depends on the situation, Because you know, everything is connected, right. So just because you see, well, take, for instance, vaccine damage can come out in multiple different ways, right. It can come out neurologically, it can come out through the skin, it can come out as a cancer, it can come out as a behavior. So there's multiple different ways that the same injury can present itself, right. So that will indicate what strategy the body is using to work through that to address the original insult. But then there would be different remedies that you would match to the symptom so that you can work your way back to the original insult. So, anyway, the gateways will help you understand how it works and how to think about it, because you have to retrain your brain, because it's basically the opposite of allopathy, so we have to rethink how we think about illness and injury and healing and things like that.
Speaker 2:So it's a great introduction on what it is and how to get started using it and what some of the more common day-to-day remedies would be for you know, cuts, scrapes, bruises, minor injuries, headaches, sprains, strains, colds, flus, things like that. And then Gateway 2 is basically just a extension of that and, um, one of the bigger um bigger lessons in gateway 2 is about the different cell salts and how to use those as well. So, and then we do protocol classes which kind of hone in on on specific um topics Like there's a good gut, bad gut, there's um a pain in general pain course, there's a antibiotic alternative course. That's the next one that that we're going to do. And uh, later this month there's a feminopathy course, there's um, there's an allergy course, there's a skin course, so you can kind of hone in on more specific situations, uh, things like that, so very useful.
Speaker 1:So in your life, in your personal life, do you Now I kind of know what you may say, because I know what you've said about this before but do you take certain things homeopathically to make sure that you never get cancer? And before you say, cancer is not in your consciousness, because I've heard you say that. But but I'm just saying so. A lot of people are looking at that for their dogs. Obviously you want to keep toxins out of them. You want to feed them a species appropriate raw diet and know that's not cooked and know that's not freeze, dried and know that's not, you know, fortified and all that crap. So but my, my question is do you take certain homeopathic remedies in order to make sure that your body is optimal?
Speaker 2:So, that would be using it as a more as a supplement or preventative, and it's not like that.
Speaker 2:So you treat what's in front of you, so you treat what you see.
Speaker 2:So in a sense, you could say you can use it to prevent cancer just in the way that you will be. Whatever symptom you see, you can support the system to go through to healing right, Instead of stuffing it deeper, which is what allopathy does, which is part of what causes cancer to present itself. Right, there's many different, many different ways to look at cancer and I don't know what the correct way is, or if there is a single correct way, or if it's a multitude of different things. But there's, you know, there's evidence for all different kinds evidence for all different kinds of reasons for it to appear, and you can use homeopathy to address all of those reasons that we think it appears and you can also use it to treat it. Once you have it, once you know that it's present, you can use it to treat that. And I don't do a lot with that because, like you said, I refuse to acknowledge it because I have too many other things to think about and I'm like that is a huge topic.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I just don't think I want to put my finger in. However, I did have a dog at one point that had a mast cell tumor and I dealt with that with homeopathy and a couple of some different supplements and a couple of some different supplements and you know we got rid of it and unfortunately she died before, you know, before I was able to see if there was any, if that returned or anything. She died in a car accident. She didn't die from from an illness, but so I just, you know, I just it's so.
Speaker 1:I mean, the cancer thing is so baffling right, Because you didn't have you can have the we we've seen it dogs that are, you know, not vaccinated now, whether they had a an initial round of puppy vaccines and and that did it, whether they, I mean, who the hell knows and it and it. Just I think somebody knows and I think that it's so damn big, you know.
Speaker 2:But they can't get out Well, and I think I've said before, we're surrounded by so many toxins and insults that we're not even aware of. So in different people, so in different people, different bodies are going to be prone to or sensitive to different things, for whatever reason. You know, everybody has a different history, everybody has a different makeup, everybody has different tolerance levels, everybody has different toxin exposure levels to start with, and so every individual person or dog is going to have a different tolerance to deal with those things. So you know, I don't know how many times you hear people say but I did everything right and my dog still got cancer. It's like, well, there's so many things you can't control for and you don't know what his threshold was when he came into the world to start with. So you know there's that. Can you imagine how much sooner if you hadn't done everything right? Right, I mean, yeah, it's it's.
Speaker 1:It is maddening, you know. It is so maddening and I, and I certainly do hope that bobby kennedy uh, or robert sorry, robert kennedy jr I, they call him bobby uh is able to do some things. I hope so, I hope so and so, and what I really hope. Well, here's what I think will happen. If, let's just say, the FDA gets out of our sling there and stops being such jerks to the raw food companies, the big pet foods will just come in and start creating it and make it cheaper. That's what they'll do. You know, because you already see it right. You already see the fresh pets. You already see farmer's dog, right. So the farmer's dog cooked right. And then I've talked about it on other podcasts, about the acrylamides and the all the PBDEs and all those different things that happened during the cooking process. Even though it may not be kibble, it's still cooked Right and I it's crap ingredients too.
Speaker 1:I mean, yeah, it is, and there's so much bad out there, but again, it's it's marketing. But back to the home. Yeah, yeah, I want to. I want to ask this about the homeopathy stuff. So one of the things that you really like are two items called one is nux vomica and one is arsenic arsenic, right yeah, those are two great remedies.
Speaker 2:Okay, multiple uses for both remedies.
Speaker 1:Okay, multiple uses for both. So this is that. So give me a couple of reasons. And then I also want to talk about we were talking about toxic plants before the podcast because we have so much lantana, uh, around us and I did not realize how toxic Lantana is to dogs. You guys, lantana is very toxic and both of my German shepherds and Austin would do this too love to just get in that Lantana and sort of roll around on it, get their face on it. It's a super toxic plant. So if you live in really hot areas right, texas Lantana super prevalent, arizona extremely prevalent but if you have a dog that likes to eat on those plants, they're really, really toxic. You were telling me that you had sort of the same issue when you moved to your new place out in Missouri, that you had toxic stuff. What were those toxic plants that your dogs were chowing down on? How did they present and how did you help them homeopathically?
Speaker 2:I don't remember what the plants themselves were, because I am really bad with plants, but the lady that planted them knew what they were and we looked them up and they were all toxic. And so I had five dogs that were Julian, like water hoses and lethargic and had diarrhea and all kinds of and lethargic and had diarrhea and all kinds of had. They had fevers, all this stuff, so they were drooling like water hoses. It was terrible. But we we got through all of that and without, without needing any outside help, and everybody was fine. Everybody's been fine since. But that's, that's kind of what homeopathy will do for you. It puts you more in control of you and your dog's wellness and you don't have to depend on an industry that is not trustworthy or a person that's going to give you grief about not vaccinating or feeding raw or something like that. You don't have to. You don't even don't even have to deal with that. There's no reason to deal with it.
Speaker 1:So how long did it take for the homeopathic? Remedies to help.
Speaker 2:The first couple it took a day or two because I was still trying to figure out what was working. The the last two was 12 hours and they were done.
Speaker 1:Wow.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I just I, it just took me. It just took me a little bit to to figure out what remedies were the most effective. But once I had that down, I knew exactly what to give and they got through it just fine. And you know you could say, well, the younger ones were stronger and more robust than the old, but it didn't play out that way because the oldest one got it last and she came out of it fastest.
Speaker 1:So what one homeopathic would you say before somebody comes in and gets in your class and really becomes very proficient at this? But what one homeopathic should everybody have in their home and and and keep around oh my gosh, you're gonna make me pick one.
Speaker 2:You can't dial it down to one okay, you can have two. What two nux vomica, oh my goodness, there there's, there's many, but but I actually for dogs I think I would. If you're going to force me to choose two, I would say Arnica and Nuxvomica, okay.
Speaker 1:All right, and Neely does consults too. Guys, if you're not going to get in the whole class right yet, don't forget that Neely does consult. So let's say that you have a dog that's got an issue and you want to do homeopathy. You want an alternative to go into a Banville, to a VCA, something like that. Neely is there to help you. And the great thing about working with Neely she will answer emails. Right. She probably answers more emails back and forth than she should, or that most consultants do you better start charging for that?
Speaker 2:That's getting the wheel out of hand.
Speaker 1:Well, you got to say, hey, you got to keep it down to a minimum, right, I'll answer two and that's it, or?
Speaker 2:one or whatever.
Speaker 1:Yeah, a minimum, right, I'll answer two and that's it, or one or whatever. But anyway, and remember that Neely is at wholeanimalwellnesscom wholeanimalwellnesscom. So if your dog has runny poops, they're vomiting, they're itching. I've seen Neely work with some of the worst pets ever Skin, black hair, totally gone, all different types of things and been able to help pet parents clear that up and clear it up without putting more toxins in their body. So get over to wholeanimalwellnesscom wholeanimalwellnesscom and Neely will help you. Okay, neely, when is the next class coming up?

Um, you can take, you can take. You can take them. You can take them concurrently, if you want.
